White Suit Jacket with 300 RGB LEDs

This custom Enlighted jacket was created for a client who likes to make a grand entrance at his company's annual gala.  The jacket has over 300 RGB LED pixels LEDs, arranged in a dense grid covering the front, back, arms, and collar.  His name 'Ashraf' is also lit up on the back, using RGB LED backlighting behind an embroidered panel.

controls

The lights operate in several modes, including a variety of color changes and sound reactive effects.  The on/off switch and mode switch are mounted near the hem of the jacket so they can be accessed easily while the jacket is being worn.

design and construction notes

The RGB LED pixels are individually mounted in the white metallic fabric, with the small clear lenses exposed on the outside. Flat pixels are used for backlighting in the name on the back.  All wires and supporting electronics are concealed within the lining, and the rechargeable battery pack (9.6V NiMH) is held in one of the outer pockets of the coat.
